——A Record of Shinkong Applied Materials Co., Ltd.'s Autumn Outing to Hangzhou
The lingering warmth of midsummer had not yet faded, when the continuous autumn drizzle quietly brought the coolness of early autumn, seeping into our hearts bit by bit. The company's annual autumn outing, long-awaited by everyone, set off as scheduled. With infinite longing for Hangzhou, the "Paradise on Earth", we embarked on the journey to keep a romantic appointment with early autumn in Jiangnan.
Stop 1: Nanxun Ancient Town - The Millennium Echo of a Jiangnan Pearl
The journey was a long one, and our first stop was Nanxun Ancient Town, known as "a pearl among ancient towns in Jiangnan". The moment we stepped into the town, it felt as if an invisible hand gently pushed aside the clouds, and the warm sun instantly spread over the streets and lanes, as if unfolding a magnificent picture of the thousand-year-old town's former glory before us.
Nanxun Ancient Town boasts a profound historical heritage. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the rise and prosperity of the silk industry, it became a famous silk town in Jiangnan, enjoying great economic prosperity and wealth. The local saying "Four Elephants, Eight Oxen, and Seventy-Two Golden Dogs" vividly describes the gathering of wealthy merchants and the abundant financial resources in Nanxun at that time (a metaphor for the hierarchical classification of local wealthy families, with "Elephants" representing the richest, followed by "Oxen" and "Golden Dogs"). Following the tour guide, we listened carefully to the stories of the ancient town - the impression of "the Liu family's prosperity" was deepened time and again. From the grand layout of the mansions to the exquisite collected treasures passed down through generations, every detail revealed the prosperity and grandeur of that era. We listened attentively, and through these stories, we understood the century-long rise and fall of the prominent families in Nanxun and the legendary past of the Jiangnan merchant group.

Stop 2: Hangzhou Songcheng - A Cross-Millennium Cultural Feast
After gently saying goodbye to the slate-paved roads of Nanxun, we hurried on our journey to Hangzhou. Upon arriving in Hangzhou, we checked into a warm and elegant hotel. After putting down our luggage and taking a short rest, the buffet dinner carefully prepared by the hotel was already filled with a fragrant aroma. The rich and charming scent was like an olfactory feast, gently tugging at everyone's heartstrings. We enjoyed the pleasure brought by the delicious food to our hearts' content, accumulating plenty of energy for the next part of the journey.
As night fell and the lights came on, we set off for Songcheng with great expectation - all for the sake of exploring Songcheng Eternal Love, which is known as "a show you must watch in your lifetime". On the way, many colleagues whispered their guesses: what kind of surprise would this highly praised performance bring?
As soon as we got off the bus, we were amazed by the colorful lights of Songcheng. The moment we stepped through the city gate, it felt as if we had traveled through a time corridor and stumbled into the prosperous era of the Song Dynasty a thousand years ago. Tourists in ancient costumes could be seen everywhere on the streets and lanes; even foreign friends with golden hair and blue eyes put on Hanfu. This cross-border love made us truly feel the unique appeal of traditional Chinese culture. Various performances and amusement projects naturally scattered the crowd:
-
Some stopped to watch the thrilling stunts of Jet Ski Flyers, feeling the collision of speed and strength;
-
Some crowded in the crowd, looking forward to the lively Bouquet Tossing (a traditional Song Dynasty folk activity), experiencing the fun of the Song Dynasty's marketplace in an immersive way;
-
Some interacted with the rhythm of Cross-Time Flash Mob, filled with high-spirited joy;
-
Bolder colleagues challenged the excitement of the haunted house, while the more calm ones wandered in the dynamic version of Along the River During the Qingming Festival (a famous ancient Chinese painting), experiencing the vitality of the marketplace in the ancient painting in an immersive manner.
In the end, everyone gathered in the theater on time, waiting quietly for the start of Songcheng Eternal Love. After the show began, the magnificent Song Palace Banquet Dance, the heroic scenes of battles with swords and spears, the gentle legend of the West Lake, and the vivid charm of Hangzhou... Each scene shocked our hearts like a thunderbolt, allowing us to feel the heaviness of history, the depth of culture, and the power of art in the interweaving of light and shadow. It was not until the end of the performance that everyone truly realized: it deserves the high reputation of "a show you must watch in your lifetime".
Stop 3: Hangzhou West Lake - A Poetic Encounter in Misty Rain
A good night's sleep washed away the tiredness of the previous day. Early the next morning, we went to Hangzhou West Lake with expectation. The sky was covered with light clouds, and a few drops of drizzle fell occasionally, but this did not reduce the charm of West Lake at all - instead, it added a touch of the unique grace and mystery of Jiangnan to this landscape. Coupled with the faint fragrance of osmanthus flowers, people immediately felt refreshed and relaxed.
Under the guidance of the tour guide, we boarded a cruise ship. The oars 划 gently, stirring up layers of ripples on the lake, and the scenery along the way unfolded slowly: we saw the famous Louwailou Restaurant, passed by the quiet tomb of Su Xiaoxiao (a famous courtesan in the Southern Qi Dynasty), went by the ancient Broken Bridge, encountered the winding Su Causeway and Bai Causeway, looked into the distance at the towering Leifeng Pagoda, and also found the elegant Three Pools Mirroring the Moon. The tour guide told us the legends behind each of them one by one: the love story of the Broken Bridge, the story of the construction of Su Causeway, and the thousand-year changes of Leifeng Pagoda... These stories not only enriched the cultural connotation of West Lake but also made us deeply immersed in the profound and extensive traditional Chinese culture.

Return Journey and Memories
After visiting West Lake, we went to a quiet tea house with full attachment and satisfaction. We tasted a cup of fragrant Longjing tea, enjoyed a authentic Hangzhou-style meal, and then set off on the return journey to Yangzhou.
Yangzhou is our warm home; while Hangzhou is the distant place of our hearts. In the days to come, every bit of this Jiangnan journey - the warm sun of Nanxun, the light and shadow of Songcheng, and the misty rain of West Lake - will often come to our minds, becoming an increasingly clear and unforgettable memory in our hearts.
